The oldest and largest area association in the state of Texas...

The East Texas Simmental/Simbrah Association (ETSSA) has as its primary objectives the development and promotion of the Simmental and Simbrah breeds in the Eastern area of Texas. As the Simmental and Simbrah breeds make an important contribution to the beef cattle industry in this area, it is essential that breeders work together for the betterment of these two significant breeds. The ETSSA provides the means for breeders of Simmental and Simbrah cattle to work together to achieve these goals.

The ETSSA provides breeders of any size with the ability to market their genetics to commercial cattlemen as well as other seedstock producers. The association manages a consignment sale each year on the first Saturday in May providing Simmental and Simbrah genetics for both commercial cattlemen and seedstock producers. This annual sale has been held for over 30 consecutive years thanks to the members of the ETSSA.

The ETSSA also sponsors Simmental and Simbrah shows at the East Texas State Fair, a major regional fair held in the heart of east Texas at Tyler.Field days, showcasing Simmental and Simbrah cattle, are also coordinated and sponsored by the ETSSA. These field days are open to anyone interested in Simmental or Simbrah cattle and are intended for the promotion of these breeds and for the education of cattlemen involved in producing beef for the American public.

The ETSSA represents a strong, established group of cattle breeders with a common goal to serve both its membership and the beef cattle industry in east Texas, an area with the largest cattle numbers in the United States.
